Starfish
Late November 2025, I filmed my last short film project of the year: Starfish. A short film project by my good friend and talented filmmaker Daisy Herrera, its the story of two best friends retreating to a secluded cabin for a weekend. As buried secrets resurface, their imaginations begin to blur fear and reality.
Keeping with the film's theme of a sleepover, the film was shot in two days in our Producer Isabel's family home. Our small but mighty crew had a wonderfully comfy time filming in our pajamas and spending the night in the home. I am very proud of how the project turned out, and can't wait to see the final product! Currently, the film is in its post-production phase.
This project, is part of the Watsonville Film Festival's Cine Se Puede grant program awarded to our Director Daisy Herrera. She was awarded their Latina Filmmaker Grant which helped fund our production costs.
