L'appel Du Vide
L'appel Du Vide was a project I had the opportunity to produce for the 48 Hour Project contest, one where teams all over the world compete to create the best film in under 48 hours. I heard of the competition from my friend Fernando Ramos, who was interested in joining the contest with a crew based in Santa Cruz. The challenge of a 48 hour film was exciting, and so me and Fernando alongside our chosen director Amelia York prepared for months gathering crew and funds to participate in the competition that was taking place in November 2022.
Teams are given random genres and character lines they have to integrate to their projects. We were assigned to create a horror film involving a character who is involved in a bowling team and says the line "as long as we're having fun, who cares about winning". Our team was able to write a story, film, and edit the project in under 48 hours.
The project was screened at the 48 Hour Project Virtual Film Festival, Santa Cruz Queer Film Festival, and the Great Film Club in San Francisco.
